Open Pika from the app drawer in any conversation and you are on the camera, ready to record. Tap once to start. A countdown shows the time left, and recording stops by itself at 60 seconds. Watch it back, then tap Use clip and it lands in the message field. You send it with Messages’ own Send button, like any other video.

Made for signing

Opens on the front camera with a square frame that keeps your face and hands in view.
Clips are compressed so handshapes and fast movement stay sharp while files stay small.
The recording light uses a shape and a label as well as colour, so the time left is clear without sound.
Pika can suggest a trim that cuts the still moments at the start and end.

Simple and private

Pika has no account, sign-in or servers of its own. Messages sends your clips.
Nothing is saved to your Photos library.
Sound is off until you turn it on.
On the Mac, Pika lives in the menu bar, with a shortcut to start recording from anywhere.
