Common questions
How do I change scenes, or when they start?
Swipe left or right, or pick one from the scene switcher. A scene you pick by hand lasts until the next scheduled change. To change the schedule or a scene’s tiles, tap the gear at the end of the scene switcher; on Night and Frame, press and hold the dots. You can also tie a scene to a Focus in Settings, Focus, Focus Filters.
How do I resize or remove a tile?
Press and hold the tile. To open Clock, Weather, Photos or Now Playing full screen, tap it; tap Done or swipe down to go back.
A tile says it needs access. How do I allow it?
Each tile asks the first time it needs something, such as your calendars, reminders or photos. If you said no, open Settings, scroll to Tarn, and turn the permission on. The tile updates when you come back.
The weather or the drive time is wrong, or missing.
Tarn uses your location while the app is open. Check that Location Services is on and that Tarn is allowed “While Using the App”. “Leave by” only appears for events that have an address.
A timer didn’t sound when Tarn was closed.
Tarn hands running timers to the system when you leave it. Allow Alarms for Tarn in Settings so they sound at full volume; otherwise you get a notification instead, if notifications are allowed.
Why does the screen stay on?
While the iPad is charging, Tarn keeps it on, dims to a small clock after ten quiet minutes, and lets the display turn off after thirty. Unplugged, the iPad sleeps as usual.
Now Playing is empty, but music is playing.
The Now Playing tile shows what the Music app on this device is playing. It can’t see other apps, or music started on another device.
Why does the Apple TV show an old agenda?
Apple TV has no calendars or reminders of its own, so your iPad shares them through your iCloud. Open Tarn on the iPad, and check that both are signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud on.
